Professor Dr. Xia Zhao currently holds a professorship at the School of Foreign Languages, Jiangsu University of Science and Technology. Previously, she served as a visiting scholar at the School of English Communication and Philosophy, Cardiff University, United Kingdom, from 2015 to 2019.
She holds council memberpositions in several esteemed organizations including the Chinese Contrastive Discourse Analysis Research Association, the National Cognitive Neurolinguistics Society, the Jiangsu Provincial Association of Foreign Language Studies, the Zhenjiang Social Science Federation, and the Zhenjiang Pearl S. Buck Research Association, where she also serves as Vice President.
Furthermore, Professor Zhaoserves as an expert evaluator for the National Social Science Fund and as a reviewer for the Ministry of Education's Degree and Graduate Education Development Center.Independently, she has led over ten research projects, including two projects funded by the Ministry of Education in Humanities and Social Sciences, three projects on philosophy and social sciences research in Jiangsu universities, one major project in humanities and social sciences at Jiangsu University of Science and Technology, and assistance for an outstanding academic monograph. She has also overseen the development of two high-quality courses, Advanced English and Cognitive Linguistics, at Jiangsu University of Science and Technology, in addition to participating in various undergraduate and graduate teaching reform projects.
She has authored a monograph and has contributed to over 40 academic papers in internationally recognized journals such as Frontiers in Psychology (indexed in SSCI) and prestigious Chinese journals (indexed in CSSCI) including Foreign Languages, Foreign Language Teaching and Research, Chinese Foreign Language, Jiangxi Social Sciences, Electronic Education Research, and Journal of Soochow University, among others. Additionally, she actively participates as a reviewer for esteemed international journals like Humanities & Social Sciences Communications (indexed in SSCI) and the international preprint platform Qeios.
