工学博士、教授、硕士生导师、国家蚕桑产业技术体系岗位科学家, 中国蚕学会养蚕专业委员会副主委,中国生物材料学会烧创伤创面修复材料分会常务委员。主要从事蚕丝蛋白组织工程材料、创面修复及养蚕技术研究。主持国家蚕桑产业技术体系项目、江苏省自然基金、镇江市重点研发项目等多项,参与国家自然科学基金、国际合作项目、教育部科研项目等十余项;发表SCI论文30余篇,授权发明专利10余项。在国际上首次合成了真正意义上的三维纯丝胶蛋白水凝胶并开发出了多种具有不同特性且性能优良的丝胶蛋白水凝胶、蚕丝蛋白生物活性支架及创面敷料;创新提取工艺制备了系列具有高活性的丝胶蛋白;开发出的新材料已被多家单位采购或采用,在生物医药领域具有广阔的用途和巨大的潜在经济价值。
